Yoga
Please note: while Mei is traveling and teaching in Thailand and Indonesia this winter, yoga lessons will be unavailable. The yoga room will be available for students' use at any time, however.
Yoga comes from a Sanskrit word, which means to bind or to yoke, bringing union.Hatha is a Sanskrit word. Ha means “sun” and tha means “moon.” This represents the duality in life, male and female, hot and cold, positive and negative, light and dark, yin and yang.
So like Taichi which is symbolized by the yin and yang harmoniously blend together, Hatha Yoga balances and integrates the body and the mind, the yin and the yang through postures and deep breathing.
The
difference is that Taichi
emphases constant movement when Yoga emphases
immobility.
Both approach are
equally interesting and complete perfectly each other.
Through Yoga, you can work directly on your body's tense areas, which should be of a great help for the other practices we propose and of course, for your health and life in general!
Furthermore, Yoga
should quickly help you to figure out how throw relaxation
, calm and
patience, you can go further by than trying to force your body.
